9 AM - 12 PM | EVERY 1ST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH

Meet @ The Quilcene Ranger Station:

295142 US-101, Quilcene, WA 98376

Whether you are an experienced tracker or just starting your journey into nature observation, this club welcomes everyone interested in learning and sharing knowledge about tracking wildlife in our local environment…

Each month, we will gather at various locations throughout the peninsula to track local wildlife, learn about their habitats, and understand behaviors.

Our activities will include:

  • Wildlife Tracking Workshops: Participants will receive hands-on training in identifying animal tracks, signs, and behaviors. We will cover various species native to the area, including mammals, birds, and reptiles.

  • Nature Walks: Each meeting will feature guided walks through different terrains—forests, wetlands, beaches—allowing members to experience firsthand the rich biodiversity of the region.

  • Community Engagement: We aim to build a supportive community where members can share their experiences and insights. Discussions on conservation efforts and how we can contribute positively to our environment will be suggested.

Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for outdoor conditions and bring any necessary gear such as binoculars, field guides, notebooks for observations, and water.

Meet your Instructors

David Womack

David has been an avid Outdoorsman his entire life. Growing up with his Grandpa teaching him skills of learning the woods on a deeper level while hunting and fishing.

Soon after High School David became a first responder for emergency leaks in the chemical plants for 12 years, then finally hung his hat of that trade to find deeper meaning.

He sold his home and belongings down to a backpack, Seeking wilderness adventures around the globe, from the extreme desert to the back country mountains. Experiences even included Living with the Shipibo & Ashanika Tribes in the Amazon.

His world travels also led him to deepening his studies at Alderleaf wilderness college a 9 month immersion program focusing on a transformative journey of deep nature connection, wilderness skills, and self-discovery within a supportive community.

Later apprenticing with One of his dearest Elders, Dr. David Thomson, Founder of Sacred Circles Institute with his wife Mattie, authors of "Walking the sacred wheel". Teaching indigenous spirituality from many backgrounds along with deeply rooted Native American Blackfeet traditions with Chief Keith Moon.

David continues his studies and ancestral skills while guiding others through the wilderness. His goal is to create a community through building deeper relationship with nature and incorporating teachings that help you step more into your own power with connection to our ancestral roots. All of this with intentions of building a foundation for the next generations to come.
