Join us for a one-day workshop where you'll learn the timeless skills of crafting your own traditional bow, creating a natural string, and fashioning arrows—all from local materials. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced outdoor enthusiast, this class will ignite your passion for craftsmanship, history, and survival skills.

Class Highlights:

  • Bow Making (From a Maple Stave): Learn the age-old technique of crafting a custom bow using locally sourced maple wood. Under expert guidance, you'll discover how to shape, carve, and tiller your stave into a functional piece of art.

  • Crafting the Bowstring: Master the art of creating your own bowstring from natural fibers, including jute, hemp, or plant-based cordage.

  • Arrow Creation: Create your own set of arrows from materials such as bamboo, feathers, and stone or obsidian tips. You’ll also learn fletching techniques to ensure accuracy and durability.

  • Survival & Historical Insights: Gain insight into ancient survival techniques and the role bows and arrows played in early human history.

  • A fully functional, hand-crafted maple bow

  • Protective gloves (optional, but recommended)

  • Wear weather-appropriate clothing (some work will be done outside or in a workshop with limited temperature control)
